"The music tells me what to do... I’m not making it, it’s making us." — Brian Blade
Get ready for an evening of pure musical alchemy as Brian Blade & The Fellowship Band deliver a masterclass in the soul of modern jazz. For over a quarter-century, this powerhouse collective has blurred the lines between jazz, gospel, and folk, creating a unique wall of sound that is as visceral as it is sophisticated. At the helm is the legendary Brian Blade—a drummer whose explosive yet nuanced style has reshaped the genre—leading an elite circle of virtuosos including Jon Cowherd, Myron Walden, Melvin Butler, & Christopher Thomas. This is a 25-year legacy of musical brotherhood brought to life.
Don't miss your chance to witness the band that The New York Times has hailed for their "sound that echoes grace and unity" within modern music.
The Fellowship Band was formed in 1997 and originates from the meeting of Brian Blade and Jon Cowherd in 1988 while they were studying at Loyola University in New Orleans. So far, The Fellowship Band has released seven albums: Brian Blade Fellowship (1998), Perceptual (2000), Season of Changes (2008), Landmarks (2014), Body and Shadow (2017), live from the archives (2022), and Kings Highway (2023).
